
Brenner Children's Hospital
The North Carolina Medical Examiner's Office has ruled the death of a 7 month old infant as a homicide. It is the 12th homicide in Winson-Salem this year.
Investigators are not releasing much information as this is an ongoing investigation. What they are sharing is that on the morning of July 4th, they were called to a location on Franciscan Drive for a report an an infant that was not breathing.
Before first responders arrived, the family attempted CPR but was not successful. First responders continued the efforts and transported the child to Brenner Children's Hospital where the child was pronounced dead.
Autopsy results revealed that the child stopped breathing as a result of injuries sustained, leading to the death being ruled a homicide.
