Decatur, Alabama: 25-year-old Airman First Class Keith Norris Williams, stationed out of Hurlbert Field in Florida was arrested on April 30, 2021 for allegedly raping an 11-year-old girl in October of 2020.
On May 15 he was extradited form Florida to Alabama where he was charged with first degree rape, traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, and electronic solicitation of a child.
He was released from custody on May 20 after posting $60,000 bond, the same day that the Decatur Police Department announced the arrest on their Facebook page. Northwest Florida Daily News reports that Williams was placed under custody of the Air Force and has been prohibited from leaving Alabama.
According to the affidavit seen by Northwest Florida Daily News the girl's parents were first made aware of the assault months after it happened, on February 12, when Williams allegedly sent a friend request to the girl on Facebook from an account he had established some time before for his three children. The girl's father intercepted that request and responded asking, "Do I know you?"
That was when, according to the affidavit, Williams responded with, "[Girl's name] from Badoo?" He then went on to describe what the girl was wearing the night of the assault and provide details of what the backyard of the home looked like.
"He also told thee juvenile he lives in Florida because that is where he works but can leave his job every now and then."
Immediately after the father became aware, the mother spoke to her daughter about Williams, and it was then that the girl disclosed what had transpired in October.
The Decatur Police were notified that day and opened an investigation.
As a part of the investigation, the girl underwent a forensic interview at the Morgan County Children's Advocacy Center on March 1 where she "disclosed that she began chatting with Williams after she met him online via a dating app called Badoo."
It is not clear how an 11-year-old was even able to create an account on the site.
