At the end of the week 28 men had been arrested after they showed up to a residence in South Reno in order to "knowingly engage in, and pay for, sex acts with a minor."
The week-long operation was conducted in partnership with the FBI's Norther Nevada Child Exploitation and Human Trafficking Task Force, the Washoe County Sheriff's Office, and other local law enforcement agencies.
The arrests took place over the course of four nights with 7 arrested on Monday, October 5, and 8 arrested on Tuesday, October 6. An additional 5 arrested on Wednesday, October 7, and the final 8 were arrested Thursday, October 8.
All of the accused were arrested on felony charges of soliciting a child for prostitution and attempted child abuse.
According to the Reno Gazette, half of those arrested were out on bail as of Friday.
The final individual arrested during the course of the sting is getting the most attention as it was 21-year-old defensive tackle with the University of Nevada, Reno Wolfpack, Christopher Green.
He was expected to be a starter with the team this year, but has been suspended from the program.
